The basic aim of Department of Applied Science & Humanities is to understand the nature not to alter it. Through the application of science and use of technology, the world has changed and will continue to change. Department has knowledgeable and experienced faculty, working sincerely for the progress and the development of the students. The department takes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English, which provides the foundation for the engineering education.
The Department of Applied Science and Humanities was established in the academic year 2008-2009 with the aim of fostering high-quality education in the fields of applied science and humanities. The academic activities of the department focus on cultivating a deep understanding of fundamental principles, developing creative skills to tackle challenges, and honing the analytical ability required to solve interdisciplinary problems. The department currently offers a diploma program in Applied Science and Humanities, following the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai (MSBTE) curriculum. Teaching is supported with digital presentations to enhance students' understanding of complex topics. Practical exposure is provided through industrial visits, helping students gain hands-on experience.
Every year, the department organizes a technical symposium, REFLEX, allowing students to explore new knowledge and interact with peers from other colleges. A department magazine is published annually, providing students with a platform to develop and improve their communication and interpersonal skills. Students are encouraged to participate in development programs such as ASHA (Applied Science and Humanities Students Association). ASHA is actively involved in sharing valuable information and contributing to the welfare of society.
The Applied Science and Humanities Department is dedicated to providing world-class academic services to both students and the institute to enhance the satisfaction of the industry and society. This objective is achieved through continuous improvements in the management practices adopted in teaching and learning processes. The department continually adopts and implements development, evaluation, and monitoring systems, alongside robust faculty development programs.
